Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is proud to have a Dementia Care Program that focuses on enhancing and improving the quality of lives of residents diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

This unit provides individualized activities and schedules to provide the dementia residents with a comforting, familiar yet stimulating environment. Our specially trained staff takes great pride in their ability to care for these special residents, offering exceptional care and innovative programs designed to meet their unique needs in a secure and friendly environment.

My name is Jessica Edwards; I started out at Capstone in October of 2018 as assistant administrator and then transitioned to Administrator in December of 2018. I attended SUNY Empire State College online where I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Community and Health Services with a concentration in Health Administration and Aging. I have been working in skilled nursing facilities for the past 10 years in various departments along with spending a few years in the home care atmosphere. From a young age my goal was always to become a nursing home administrator. I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, camping and golfing.

I’ve been at Capstone for about a month. I studied Early Childhood Elementary at SUNY Plattsburgh and graduated in 2007. I worked in that field for a few years and then decided I wanted to take my career to the next level and continue to help in the community by becoming a nurse! I have a passion for helping those with dementia and their families, as it has personally impacted my life in so many ways. In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband, son and golden retriever. I love being on the lake or ocean, fall is my favorite season while I watch Notre Dame Football games with my family and friends.
